Caravanserai: Journey Among Australian Muslims

Nine years ago, award-winning author Hanifa Deen set out on a journey to show the "human face" of Australian Muslims. Now, in the shadow of September 11 and the Bali blasts, she revisits the people she originally interviewed to discover how the recent national and international events have impacted on their daily life. Caravansarai goes beyond the distorting mirror of media stereotypes - images of veiled women, fierce bearded men, barbaric parents, rapists and suicide bombers - to reveal the human face of Australian Muslims.
