Based on a true story, Caught On The Equator is about BEAUTY, and the music within all of us. It's about being ORIGINAL and THE GIFT of BECOMING who you were meant to be... As an artist and a teenager, this is my story of discovering an exotic country and the unexpected gifts that lay within. Join me on a raw and amazing trek to E. Africa, back to 1983 in a country filled with savage beauty but also harboring a savage business- IVORY! Find out how I unknowingly was caught up in both, and how venturing into a place on fire with corruption, struggling to recover from a coup in 1982, showed me a perspective that would change the rest of my life. "I was only nineteen and unsure; uncertain whether I would remember my sublime journey to East Africa in all her glory and detail. I took no notes, did no sketches and was without paper or brushes to record any part of my adventure. Except for a camera and my memory, I had left it all to chance. If the images I had seen in Africa were with my eyes alone, I may not have remembered them so clearly. But my encounter with the equator was through my soul, and so all the beauty and the special music which came from her were captured in my heart, forever. Thirty years needed to pass before I truly understood her messages and could embrace the quiet whispers of Truth. It was a requirement of sorts for me to be able to describe adequately a place where north and south, light and dark, fire and ice collide in such spectacular form." One thing is for certain- my way into E. Africa was relatively simple. My way out was not.
