Samuel Burton has become a national figure after the execution of Timothy Cannon, MD. His role in the posthumous exoneration of Dr. Cannon was the vehicle that thrust him into the limelight. Now, he is faced with a threat the likes of which the world has never seen: A virus beyond anyone's greatest fear. In short order, the pandemic gets much worse instead of better. Only one location has hope for a cure and this is in the Dominican Republic, of all places. One woman, by the name of Kimberly Samson, is on the trail of the cure but has been unsuccessful thus far. To make matters worse, there is a charlatan in her midst. This traitor holds another virus that ultimately could determine the very fate of mankind. A ghost of a man, once broken and forever saved, finds himself once again in the thick of intrigue. Can he once more make a difference? Can he yet again find love amidst his sorrow? Will he be able to stop the tide of terror sweeping the world? They all must face their fear and stop the beast killing hundreds of millions of people the world over. Can it be stopped in time? Donald (DJ) Denby finished his medical training in 2005 after being a lifelong student up to that point. Many of the fundamental topics in his novels revolve around thoughts, ideas, and fears that he pondered during his medical training. Issues such as "What if a patient confessed to a crime while under a physician's care?" and "What if a pandemic flu was hijacked for a terrorist aim?" fueled this and his earlier novel. The center of this novel again rests in the City of Jefferson deep in the heart of Missouri. The drama of this novel, however, rests on the world stage. When he is not working in his chosen specialty, he spends the rest of his time with his wonderful wife, Lea, and his family.
