Christ as Conqueror and Reconciler

This careful study provides a strong biblical basis for spiritual warfare that aims to deliver persons from bondage to evil forces, or beings. It shows the close relationship between the portrayal of Christ as Reconciler of hostile beings, or powers, in Colossians 1:19-20 and His depiction as Conqueror over them in Colossians 2:13-15. It examines each portrayal exegetically--separately and then jointly. Next, it draws out theological implications for the Church's role in deliverance--cosmically and individually. Deliverance ministry today is grounded fully in the unique work of Jesus Christ.
