Christian Identity in a Postmodern Age

Karl Rahner, SJ and Bernard Lonergan, SJ (both 1904-1984) were two of the most important theologians of the twentieth century. Between them they addressed a myriad of issues ranging from the foundational and philosophical, to the theological and the spiritual. If Lonergan focused particularly on the question of method in theology, Rahner addressed an extraordinary variety of topics and his work continues to influence almost every aspect of theology systematic, historical, moral, practical and spiritual. This book is the result of an international conference hosted by the Milltown Institute of Philosophy and Theology to mark the centenary of the births of these two philosopher-theologians. A host of international specialists explore their respective legacies by examining not only their contributions to anthropology, theology and spirituality, but also by bringing their insights into dialogue with many of the issues facing Christians today.
