At just twelve years old, Thomas can feel the weight of the Kelly family crumbling down around him. All he wanted for Christmas was to spend time with his sick mother, but due to doctor's orders, that precious gift wasn't to be. Instead, he's stuck with the Kelly's, watching them behave like children instead of folks he's supposed to look up to and learn from.

When Charlotte and Liam Kelly decide to take in young Thomas Brennan while his mother recovers from a life-threatening illness, their hearts are in the right place. Charity begins at home, after all.
