Cicero: On the Ideal Orator (De Oratore)

This is a new translation of the classic On the Ideal Orator (De Oratore) in which Cicero, the greatest Roman orator and prose-writer of the day, gives his mature views on rhetoric, oratory, and philosophy. It is based on, and contributes to, the many advances in recent scholarship on De Oratore itself, as well as on the many aspects of ancient rhetoric, philosophy and history relevant to the work.
