This book is about twin brothers Pierce Samuel and Robin Stephen Tomlin born 1836 on a plantation in the Shenandoah Valley Virginia. Their family are Irish descendants who came to America to find a better life for them and for their future families. They both entered Military Academy West Point in 1856 and both graduated in the class of 1860. Since the brothers were always divided about slavery, when the war broke out between the states, Pierce sided with the South and joined the CSA (Confederates States of America) and Robin sided with the North and joined the USA (United States of America). It tells about the Civil War battles they were in from 1861 to 1865. When Pierce and Robin were captured and sent to POW (Prisoner of war) camps, both were released and returned to their units to finish out their military careers until the war ended.
