Coming of Age in the Bull City

Adam has the perfect life after graduating from college: a beautiful fiancé, a degree from Duke University, and a path to medical school. Only a few months later, he is left reeling when his fiancée, Allison, suddenly moves out. Adam is adrift in sadness until he meets Danielle, twelve years his senior. Suddenly, Adam is thrust into a love affair, filled with passion he has never before experienced. When Allison wants to rekindle their engagement, Adam is torn between his infatuation with Danielle and the certainty of marriage to Allison.

Adam struggles to unravel his two relationships while working as a paramedic in the sometimes violent city of Durham, North Carolina. He experiences the intense emotions of love, confusion, and exhilaration as he navigates his passionate fling with Danielle and reuniting with a stable Allison. In one excruciating year, Adam is transformed from a naïve young man to a burgeoning adult as he comes of age in the Bull City.
