This is the second edition of a highly regarded work, comprehensively analysing the current state of European law in the energy sector. Energy law has grown significantly in importance in EU law in recent years. It frequently overlaps with competition and environmental law and has often been a controversial and complex subject, but this work examines the relevant law and regulation in an integrated and objective manner. The author draws on the insights of an expert advisory panel made up of senior practitioners, regulators and academics in the sector, to ensure that coverage is optimally directed to addressing the issues and problems arising in practice. The panel is made up of Professor Sir David Edward, formerly at the ECJ; Maria Rehbinder, the Head of Unit for Energy and Water at DG Competition, European Commission; David Newbery, economics professor at Cambridge University; and Michael Brothwood, solicitor and occasional advisor to the House of Lords 9780199282975tee on Europe.
