Concepts in Biological Oceanography

This text provides an introduction to the principles and major questions of biological oceanography for physical scientists. In three sections it (1) introduces basic ecology, with emphasis on foraging theory and analytic formulations of predator-prey encounter rates, (2) presents an overview of biological oceanography, and (3) discusses the interaction of biological and physical processes that govern the ocean.
