Terrorist-based conflict has lavished and besieged the North East states of Nigeria in last couple of years. This prompted research into the livelihoods of the region which focuses on food security and mortality figures from the conflict zone. Using similar regression method derived from D'Souza and Jolliffe (2013) in Afghanistan, the research provided a statistical significance (P < 0.05) between the independent variable (mortality) drawn from acleddata.com and the dependent variable of the staple food (millet) prices from Damasak regional market sieved from fews.net from July 2009 to April 2014. Thus, conflict was identified to have exacerbated food price by 21 percent (0.21 R square) with other factors of 79 percent that might have contributed. Short and long-term recommendations were penned.
