Continuum Mechanics and Its Applications

Based on the proceedings of a conference on continuum mechanics and its applications, this volume presents an account of advances in the field. More than 150 leading reserachers from twelve countries attended the conference, creating a broadly based international perspective for the book. Included here are modern treatments of nonlinear phenomena in solid and fluid mechanics, finite difference and finite element methods, mathematical modelling, porous media and crack and contact problems.
