Corsham in Focus

Corsham is one of Wiltshire's hidden gems. Set on the fringes of the Cotswolds only 9 miles east of Bath, this historic market town is the home of Corsham Court, with its celebrated picture gallery, fine gardens and Capability Brown parkland. Peacocks wander freely through the town, whose High Street, with its celebrated 17th-century weavers cottages, John Betjeman considered 'one of the best left in England'.The town is a rewarding place to explore and Corsham in Focus invites residents and visitors to do just that by taking part in a photographic treasure hunt in search of the subjects of Andy Rose's atmospheric black-and-white photographs. These includeclose-ups of architectural details; decorative ironwork; signs, inscriptions, numbers and letters; natural features and classic views - all within a mile of Corsham's elegant Town Hall. Isolated from their contexts, the images will please and tantalise in equal measure as participants hunt down the subjects.Anyone with a sense of curiosity and a faintly competitive spirit will find themselves drawn into this Corsham-wide treasure hunt, which culminates in a prize-giving ceremony at which all will be revealed.
