Mungo, a fisherman in Cornwall with Gambian and Cornish roots, navigates a life shaped by racism and his past as a bond salesman. Married to Aileen, a former securities lawyer now working on asylum cases, Mungo uncovers a plot threatening his livelihood. Initially suspecting Meredith, a foul-mouthed environmentalist, and Tristan, a conspiracy-loving farmer, he learns the real villains are smuggling underage Gambians into the UK for forced labour.
