What does a meteorite, a murderer, and a wagonload of gold have in common? That was the mystery Maddy Madison and her Quilters Club pals were trying to solve. Caruthers Corners (pop. 3,212) wasn't the kind of place where psychopaths ran loose, except maybe in that outlying community the locals call Cuckoo Crossing. Maddy had lived in northeastern Indiana all her life. And she couldn't name one person hereabout that she thought capable of murder.
