Dark Horse

Imogen Duffy is an up-and-coming Irish jump jockey making her mark in steeplechase racing when she discovers she's being stalked. Convinced the stalker is her estranged ex-boyfriend, she goes to the police, but Liam vehemently denies the accusations-until he's found dead, stabbed with a knife bearing Imogen's fingerprints.

Imogen's father, convinced of her innocence, seeks out Sid Halley to ask for his help uncovering the truth. Sid tries to refuse, but when he discovers that the man was one of the doctors who saved his wife's life when she was shot years prior, Sid agrees to see what he can do for Imogen.

After meeting with Imogen, Sid decides to take a quiet look at the evidence in the case. When her father announces on TV that Sid Halley is officially investigating the case and will clear Imogen of murder, Sid is furious. What was supposed to be a discreet, small favor has been turned into a full-scale investigation under the close eye of the press. The case becomes all too personal soon after, when Sid realizes he is being stalked - is it the killer? With his life and reputation on the line, Sid races to solve the case before someone new ends up dead-or he ends up framed for murder.
