Rachel Gold is on temporary assignment in Israel as an Interpreter for a government representative; Michael Cohen, at a Peace Conference. An Arab representative at the conference shows abnormal interest in Rachel. He seems to recognize her in some way. He is a total stranger to Rachel, but he gives her information about her possible origins, that reveal everything Rachel believes about herself could be a lie. Her life begins to unravel layer by layer with new revelations. Before she can sort it all out in her mind, a tragic accident happens, compounding the chaos, and trauma in her life. She has fallen for Michael. A man her head tells her is all wrong for her, but, her heart won't let the feelings go. They are both badly injured in the accident. Rachel doesn't know if Michael will live, but she is forced to go on with her life, and her own recovery.
