Dead Man's Shoes

A paranormal tale of rebirth and possession; interwoven with a storyline of human frailty, passion, intrigue and adventure.



The Dachau Camp Commandant organises a tailoring competition between a German Jew, Yoshi Ben Heim, and the Russian, Mikalavitch.



Yoshi sabotages his opponent's work, wins the competition, becomes the Commandant's personal tailor and is forced to execute Mikalavitch.



The Russians take revenge and slit Yoshi's throat. The timing of his death coincides with the birth of Nathan Gradinsky who becomes host to Yoshi's tormented spirit.



Nathan is haunted by a recurring dream ;( an analogy of Mikalvitch's execution) from which he cannot escape.



Nathan is befriended by Bert Klinsman. Bert fled Germany when his best friend Yoshi was interned. Amazed at the likeness between Nathan and Yoshi, Bert explores this connection, unravelling events beyond earthly belief.



A back story highlights the life of Nathan's family especially his brother Solly, a successful boxer and a major player in London's gangland.

Nathan's brothers are killed in a gangland war. This is the nadir of Nathan's life. He is erroneously diagnosed as schizophrenic and is sectioned.



Under hypnosis, Nathan's previous life is revealed with tragic consequences. Bert crosses to the netherworld to find a way of exorcising Nathan's invading spirits.



Nathan marries Maggie and opens the British Council office in Moscow.



Nathan is seduced by Lyudmila and is blackmailed into working for the Russian Mafia. He is also recruited as a double agent ( KGB and British Intelligence Service.) This leads Nathan, Maggie and Lyudmila into great danger and Lyudmila is killed. Nathan's final assignment ends in his assassination.



The time of Nathan's death coincides with the birth of a son born to a Palestinian family in the Gaza Strip.



A 9/11 suicide bomber is born.
