Kenneth Dale Wolfe of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania was twenty-four years old in 1941 when he volunteered for the Army Air Force. Working hard, he attained the rank of Second Lieutenant before shipping off to an air base in Greenville, South Carolina.

It was a much simpler time, complicated by a vicious and costly war. Anxious American families everywhere gathered around their radios to listen to "Songs by Sinatra" and to hear news from the front.

And as Kenneth learned the ins and outs of being an ordnance officer, our country, collaborating with other nations, was planning something big.
