Death Stalks the Retirement Party

Joe Davis, humor blogger and inconsequential celebrity, returns to his hometown of Porter's Bay to celebrate his father's retirement. His father, a longtime business owner and pillar of the community, is being honored with a week's worth of celebrations. However, not everyone is sharing the love. One of his father's old business partners threatens to expose an old secret. When the former partner turns up dead, evidence points to Joe's father. Talk about putting a damper on things.

Joe fears the local police will try to railroad his father, so Joe takes on the investigation himself. It leads him down a path filled with crimes both past and present. The suspects include embittered business partners, desperate criminals and jilted lovers. Along the way, Joe must contend with suspicious cops, corrupt politicians, and gossipy townspeople. And he must figure out a secret his father has kept from him all these years. Can Joe discover the answer to this mystery? And does he even want to know?
