Defiant Carolinians

Defiant Carolinians is a tremendous and exciting adventure novel about the American Revolutionary War in the state of South Carolina. The plot revolves around the interactions of Britain's military leadership assigned to the American colonies, the American patriots, and the American Tories. The leading characters, Capt. Bowie Avery and Taggan Avery, are committed to the Patriot cause and the fight for independence from England. They and their companions traverse the years of the conflict with vigor. The book is resplendent in a vast assortment of historical figures as well as fictional characters establishing their roles within pivotal actions. South Carolina saw much of the armed conflict that occurred during the American Revolution with over 400 battles and skirmishes within the boundaries of the state. Ted Gragg uses this fact and weaves an exciting adventure story through and around many recognized historical figures with his fictional characters. The story stretches along the coastal region of South Carolina from Wilmington, North Carolina. to Savannah, Georgia; from the swamps to the Piedmont, and from the foothills to the mountains.
