Over the past few years, disasters have increased in their frequency and intensity at an exponential speed. The damages caused by disasters cannot be over emphasised; they include loss of life, human suffering, economic instability and destruction of the environment. Individuals, families, communities and nations have had their bigger share of the impact of disasters.
