Discovering the Gifts of the Holy Spirit

People are hungering to know Jesus whether they know it or not. Our job as followers of Jesus is to bring his presence into our everyday world. One of the tools God has given us to accomplish this is the gifts of the Holy Spirit. One of the problems people have with opening up to the gifts of the Holy Spirit is they are now aware of what they are and how they can be used in everyday life. In Discovering the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, the reader is introduced to what some of the gifts of the Holy Spirit are, and how they have been used in real-life situations. This will help the reader discover their own gifts and how they can be used to make Jesus's presence a reality.
Prior to the discussion on the gifts is an explanation of the need for the gifts and Church teaching promoting the gifts. This is written from a Catholic perspective including Papal documents, Church history, and current Catholic theology. Therefore, while the information could be of benefit to those in other denominations, it will mostly appeal to Roman Catholics. Following the gifts is a discussion on obstacles to growth in the Spirit, including a prayer for forgiveness. This prayer is a review of those people the reader might still need to forgive. Following the forgiveness prayer is a chapter on spiritual warfare and fighting our own spiritual battles.
