"Don't Let That Sun Go Down On Me" reflects the passions of soldiers and prostitutes and the underlying horrors of war. Innocence is tentative, worldliness is manipulative, but there is an underlying honesty in the characters, whether they are American soldiers, Viet Cong insurgents, South Vietnamese women, French girls or the people who surround them. More than anything, there is a desparate cry to not let that sun go down on me.
