Don't Read This Before Bed

A creature emerged from the dark cave. A long, tall, horrifying thing with cold, oily, ebony-colored skin. It had soul-crushing eyes like burning coals. But it was in no way warm or kind. It was cold, colder than the coldest ice. But, not only on the outside. This creature was heartless. It loved to play games. Twisted games. Games of death and blood. Games of gore and heart-wrenching tragedy. But, the children didn't know. They never did.
