Part of the Loren Coleman Presents series for Cosimo Classics, this enchanting book will satisfy anyone interested in dragons, cryptozoology, or folklore from around the world.American writer, naturalist, and explorer ERNEST INGERSOLL (1852-1946) wrote more than a dozen books on zoology and biology, including his contribution to the cryptozoological world, Dragons and Dragon Lore (1928). He studied biology and zoology under renowned scientist Louis Agassiz at Harvard University. He contributed to many newspapers and magazines in his lifetime, including The New York Tribune and Field and Stream; he also updated guide books for Rand McNally for 15 years. As an advocate for wildlife protection, he was dedicated in taking detailed field notes rather than the specimens themselves. He died at 94 years old in Battleboro, Vermont.
