Dragonworld and The Rising Star

The Rising Star is the second book in the acclaimed Dragonworld series. In this story, Dillon Brown is a shy boy living with his impoverished grandfather. He discovers a way out of their poverty by entering a children's talent contest, as winning the prize money would help cover the cost of repairs needed on their dilapidated home. Unfortunately, Dillon's only talent is a few basic magic tricks that his grandfather taught him and they are not likely to get him very far!
