This book is the first in a series based on Tarab Rinpoche's lectures, workshops, interviews, and the UD training, containing his insights on using ancient dream wisdom for personal development as well as for participating in lucid dreams and mastering the dream state as a platform for entering and developing the spiritual dimension of conscious existence. With Tarab Tulku Rinpoche's insight, the reader is offered an exceptional theoretical framework along with practical methods that provide a bridge between everyday psychological experiences and the gateway to the wider spiritual domain.Tarab Rinpoche drew his knowledge and inspiration from pre-Buddhist Indo-Tibetan Shamanistic as well as the Tantric Dream Yoga tradition, the latter originating from ancient Buddhist and Pre-Buddhist spiritual traditions. Indo-Tibetan dream work differs from modern dream work: rather than focussing on the interpretation of content or symbols, it emphasises conscious mastery of the dream bodymind when lucid in the dream state for dealing directly and deliberately with the appearances in dreams, using the knowledge and knowhow from the original dream world. The dream work presented in this Dream Wisdom book is primarily in order to empower ourselves by enhancing our resilience by rejoining at increasingly more subtle and deeper levels with the innate inner strength and body-mind resources with which we were born and which the dream state provides an exceptional platform for. Dream-work also offers a pathway toward transforming embedded psychological patterns and allowing greater mental and emotional wellbeing to emerge, together with opening the possibility of entering a spiritual level of existence through the implementing of Indo-Tibetan Dream-Yoga instructions. This book is, however, much more than a Dream Book. To understand why and how we can use the dream and imagery states for transformation, the crucial tenets of Buddhist psychology and Inner-science are introduced, elucidating the ancient Eastern view of the interrelation between body, mind, reality and the reference-existence in the spirit of Tarab Rinpoche. He argued for the necessity of continuous grounding, whether in the physical body when awake, in the dream-body when dreaming, or in any of the bodies of the meditation states for mastering and dealing adequately with their corresponding realities. Before venturing into the full range of lucid dreaming as a gate to the spiritual path, this approach invites us to first utilise all the possibilities and opportunities that the dream content offers us in regard to our personal development and mental condition, a view which is also stressed and shared by most of the contemporary psychologists.
