How many people's lives have included 500 parakeets, a homicidal orthodontist, an Elvis impersonator, a blue-faced abuser and many Alice in Wonderland moments? This is the story of my childhood and teen years with an alcoholic mother and semi-invalid father, my young marriage to escape only to find I'd gotten into an even worse situation, raising my son as a single mom, and learning along the way to be the person I was meant to be.
