"INSOMNIA" is a story of many women around the world, packed in a book, though. Insomnia is an awful illness. Searching for reasons for her own insomnia, speaking through the pen of the author, Stone Hardrock tells us her life story, which happens to be the story of many abused women.
Paper "puts up" with everything...but... it takes a great courage to destroy the whiteness and purity of the paper with lines written and filled with sad, ugly, awful, sometimes terrifying events and feelings and to endure the pain that emerges whenever we want to caress the shadow of something which is long gone, something that has disappeared, and to awaken the painful memories.
To many readers around the world including Macedonia, the story won't mean anything very special; many will take it only as some literary work of suspicious value. Those women who have gone through something similar as the protagonist Stone Hardrock here, will probably find something personal lost somewhere in between these pages, and perhaps find strength enough to raise their voices against family violence, and violent, tyrant husbands.
Stone is still fighting insomnia, still searching for a ray of light in her life... If only her sons would get married and give her grandchildren!...
For English-speaking readers only, who have no knowledge of Macedonian, there is an English version provided - just turn the book on its back. I wish you all pleasant moments while reading it.
