Earnestly Contending is a literary portrait of the Holiness-Pentecostals, it is the collective story of their genesis, and a poignant glimpse into what birthed them and what is required to sustain their Movement.

This is the shared story of the Holiness people, made personal through the biography of Havis Allen Crawford, a young migrant farmer whose stammering lips God chose to anoint and set free so that he might proclaim the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Through his personal narrative we come to understand and appreciate the contributions that his generation made towards the proliferation of the independent Holiness-Pentecostal Movement.
