Earth Up Your Roots is the third 'Elemental' poetic collection by author, teacher and activist Selin Senol-Akin, incorporating- alongside new, vulnerably inspiring poetry- punchy and twisty short stories and an original play. In 'Roots', the author explores the concept of self-acceptance through healing one's familial and cultural traumas- with 'the good' as well as 'the bad'- in order to fully blossom.

From an older lady stuck between her own past and the future of her son in 'Ruby' and an author meeting a most mysterious fan in 'Theresa', to the forbidden love story between Turkish-born Gulay and Armenian Tigran in 'The Rose Moon'- Senol-Akin presents the reader with seven page-turning short stories. She concludes her nature-fused theme in the final chapter titled 'Bloom' with 'Zelle': an original playscript based on the tragic life of the multi-cultural, legendary dancer and accused WWI spy, Mata Hari.
