EDGAR KENNEDYappeared in over 400Hollywood films spanningfour decades. An originalKeystone Kop for MackSennett, he went on tosupport such filmluminaries as CharlieChaplin, Laurel & Hardy, the Marx Bros. John Wayne, LucilleBall and Doris Day. Billed as "The Average Man," Edgarstarred in his own short comedy series at RKO for 17 years.Bill Cassara was born and raised in San Jose, California where his love for the moviesbegan while attending weekly programs at the Garden Theatre, a neighborhood cinema.A graduate of San Jose State University, Cassara dedicated himself to a career in lawenforcement. This 25-year veteran of the Monterey County Sheriffs Office currentlyholds the rank of Sergeant and isassigned to patrol on the Montereypeninsula. In 1984, Cassara founded"The Midnight Patrol" chapter for theSons of the Desert, the Laurel andHardy appreciation society. He has alsobeen a board member for the MontereyCounty Arts Habitat and theMonterey County Film Commission.Cassara chaired film events featuringappearances by Doris Day and ClintEastwood. Cassara also hosted theEdgar Kennedy Celebration inMonterey in 1997.BearManor Media
