The revival of interest in the thought of Burke was one of the justifications for the publication of a second edition of Professor Cobbans study of the political and social ideas of Burke and his closest disciples, the Lake Poets. Burkes thought has both historical and permanent significance: fundamentally his works are as relevant today as when they were first written.
