Maintenance of students' records in many secondary schools in Kenya is wanting. In many instances, most of the basic records are not kept and are therefore lacking in many secondary schools. One may go to one's former secondary school for appraisal or certification and to one's surprise might find little or no information regarding the subject. Information retrieval in most secondary schools is cumbersome or impossible altogether. The general objective of the study was to recommend ways of improvement in policies concerning maintenance of students' records in secondary schools in Kisii Central District, Kenya. The research was carried out through a cross-sectional descriptive survey design. It was established in the study that 80.50 percent (R2 = 0.805) variation in maintenance of students' records were explained by knowledge acquisition/creation, knowledge storage, knowledge sharing, knowledge retrieval, and knowledge evaluation. It was a key recommendation of this study that modern ICT techniques be used in public secondary schools in Kisii Central District, Kenya to maintain students' records.
