This introduction to the grammar of New Egyptian, the language of the New Kingdom especially during the Ramesside period (ca. 1350-1000 BC), is a standard reference for academic teaching. Assuming a working knowledge of hieroglyphic script and Middle Egyptian language, this volume introduces the characteristics of the New Egyptian writing system and guides the reader from simple sentences to larger linguistic units.
