The doomed romance between two young people separated by the closure of Spain's border with Gibraltar. A love that transcends family pressure and political forces, set on the glamorous Costa del Sol.

It's love at first sight when Lisa meets Manuel at a Beatles concert in Madrid. But Lisa lives in Gibraltar and Manuel in Málaga, and their families disapprove of the romance. As if that weren't enough, they live in turbulent times, in a Spain torn between, on the one hand, a dictatorship for which the Spanish claim to Gibraltar serves as common ground with the regime's opponents, and the forces of modernity on the other. When Franco closes the Spanish border with Gibraltar in 1969, the lovers are separated, leaving their infant daughter on the Spanish side with Manuel. In their quest to be reunited, they find an unexpected ally: Audrey Hepburn, who Lisa meets in Marbella and is perhaps the only person with the power to help them.
