Our favorite denizens of the Magical Forest are back with more stories told by Skib Bricluster, the fictional scribe who holds up a mirror to a world that reflects - and reflects on - our own. In this second volume, Elephant and Rabbit venture beyond the Forest: they meet Skib at the All-In Diner, take an acting class in New York City, and go back in time (guided by Ellen the Earthworm) to hear Mozart play the violin. When naive Elephant bests Rabbit in a philosophical discussion with a tree, the usually savvy Rabbit loses his cool and drowns his sorrows in a most unexpected place.
