In contemporary society, as was the case in ancient hedonic societies, we are impelled to seek pleasure at all times and often at any cost. Pleasure is sought at all costs and pain is avoided as much as possible. Why? Because we have been conditioned to believe that pain is a bad thing, an evil thing.

The child runs and when he falls, he goes to his mother seeking comfort, however, instead of hearing a kind word, an attitude of acceptance, the mother says:

- "See! It's Punishment! I told you not to run..." and so our mentality about pain is formed. We unconsciously internalize that feeling pain is suffering and suffering is punishment. You have somehow not behaved well and deserve to suffer.

The book "Embracing the Wisdom Within Pain", seeks to bring a reflection on the role of pain in our existence - and the suffering that comes from it, mainly in the psychological sphere - and its crucial impact on the development of the being and its maturity, as well as the flourishing of resilience.

This work will lead you to review your concepts about pain and discover the hidden gifts that it, throughout our history, offers us.
