Employment Forecasting in the Construction Industry

This book presents a model for preparing employment forecasts for skilled occupations by main planning regions in the United Kingdom construction industry. It reviews the general approach to employment planning and forecasting and identifies the expected gains to be derived from the relatively sophisticated procedures developed in the book. The essential characteristics for an employment forecasting model for the construction industry are established and the data sources are reviewed. A detailed set of employment demand models are described and a corresponding supply-side model framework is presented. The steps involved in operating the comprehensive forecasting model developed are outlined.
