Ethics in the Community of Promise

This is a new edition of a successful introduction to Christian ethics (published by Fortress in 1992 as "Faith Formation and Decision"). It outlines the shared features of Christian faith. It demonstrates how that communal commitment forms our values, characters, virtues and eagerness to do the right thing. This theory is applied to real-life dilemmas including affirmative action, medical ethics, truth telling, environmental justice and war. It is updated with numerous additional cases and illustrations. It includes discussion questions and suggestions for further reading plus a new section on courage.
