Maureen McKelvey focuses on two firmsGenentech in the US, and Kabi in Swedenand compares their initiatives, activities, and organization as they brought knowledge to the market in the form of insulin and the human growth hormone. Evolutionary Innovations was awarded the Schumpeter Society book prize in 1996. For this paperback edition the author has written a new introduction in which she reflects upon the most recent developments in biotechnology.
