The Union was struck down by an invisible hand, and Ever's journey ended only to begin again underground. Everything she was taught about The Peace and her origins has been called into question as she finds herself captured by a clandestine organization studying the surface.
Her only friend and jailor, a robot of vast intelligence, trains her to complete a mission. To what end, she does not know. Her mother and grandfather hold the knowledge she needs, and reuniting with her family and friends is her only objective.
