Faith Sees

Faith. We all have it. You, me, everyone. Actually, we live by it everyday! Do you sit in a chair when you eat your meals and trust it to 'hold you up?' That's faith. Do you drive a car back and forth to work and depress the brake when it's time to stop? And then trust it to come to a screeching halt (or a mulling grind, depending on how you drive...smile)?! That's faith! In ways you haven't imagined, you live by faith every moment of your life on earth!

This faith that you have just enough of that God honors can see in the dark! Did you know that? It can see through densest fog, darkest clouds, and blackest nights! It sees around curves, over hills, past roadblocks to divine destinations that God has planned for you! It sees past pain, through heartache, beyond grief, yes, well into the future! It gives your heart hope that "everything's going to be okay!" Eventually.

Dr. Flora reflects frequently upon a charming insight about faith shared by a child in his pastoral ministry: "Faith is believing it in your heart when you cannot see it with your eyes." Then building upon Martin Luther's inspiration about faith experienced in 1517, Flora offers theologically-sound teaching laced with witty life stories and solemn life sorrows to encourage everyone to "admit" and enjoy the gift of faith to whom God has given everyone a measure.

These are the author's own words about his joy writing this book: "The Bible is filled with faith. Is it possible that everything I wish to say about faith could be said here? In one book? Absolutely not! My greatest challenge writing this book was stopping! Oh, there's so much more I wanted to say! There's so much more that needs to be said. But maybe, that's my next book...or series of books. John said that if all the things that Jesus did could be written down, 'the world itself could not contain the books that should be written' (Jn. 21:25; KJV). So also, the faith we express in Him cannot possibly be contained and explained in a single, written description of it.
