Ferdish Folk

In the late 1890s, children attempt to escape imprisonment from a factory in America, held captive by Mag Cragtree and her cohorts. In their efforts, they are caught up into the world of the Ferrows, the Sweepers of the forests. Folks like Granny Bear and Pappa along with Finnius Finney and the prophet Lamascar. A journey ensues to return the Heart of the Forest to the Whoolies. Both in the home forests and on the great journey the children see many new places and make acquaintances, like Sed, the giant Night Feinster and Truin, the Gorthic. Along with Dr. Mirabelle Gruse, a physician and Governor Olewick of the Whoolies. The yarn involves another realm, an extension of our world with undertones of realism amidst the fantastical. Light and darkness clash in this epic tale. This is a story for the family, but not advised for very young children. It's up to the discretion of the parents. A glossary is included.
