Access to traditional banking services is difficult for a large part of the African population, especially in rural areas, due to the lack of necessary structures. Banks have difficulty developing their customer network in these areas. On the other hand, these same populations are well served in terms of mobile telephony. The combination of these two factors is at the origin of mobile banking. The objective of this book is to demonstrate how the development of mobile banking contributes to the growth of banks in sub-Saharan Africa: the particular case of banks in Mali. Modernity in operations, technological innovation, rate of banking, turnover, quality of service and reduction of service costs? In order to answer this question, it will be necessary to determine the different factors that explain this development and the way in which it takes place. Thus, after having read academic, professional and generalist documents on the subject, having been a Mobile Banking Project Manager and having animated debates and conferences in Mali and abroad, we will use these aspects to answer the problem.
