First Report on the Diocese of Nicomedia 1870

This survey of Armenian communities in Nicomedia in the Ottoman Empire (Izmid in modern Turkey) was carried out by Archimandrite (vartabed) Boghos Natanian in September 1870. The report was originally published in Armenian in 1871. The work focuses on the national administration of the region in terms of demography, schools, and economic well being, as well as certain local practices such as wedding ceremonies.
