Flicker of Defiance is the first book in a new adult fantasy series exploring themes of perseverance, found family, and defying the odds. It follows a traveling Circus resisting the tyrant of Kamore, hell-bent on scourging her country of the Magicae, a people with magic in their blood. The Circus includes a cast of Crafters, who can control an element, Herbalists, whom the plants sing to, Shifters, whose second form is an animal, and Forgers, who can shape and transform their given material with a touch. The Circus wanders the country looking for and saving the Magicae still in hiding.
