Forest Friends: Trouble in the Garden

Forest Friends is a new series of early reader chapter books. The first book in the series, Trouble in the Garden, tells the story of three friends from the forest: Riley Rabbit, Shelby Squirrel, and Charlie Chipmunk; These three friends love to explore the world around them. There is always so much to do in the forest but exploring and finding new things are two of their favorite activities. There are many places within the forest to explore, but as the friends begin to tire of the same places, they look for somewhere new place to explore.One summer day they find their new place to explore. It was something they had never noticed before and they weren't even sure what all it was. There had been a new human house built just outside the forest and the friends wondered what lies behind the fence hiding most of the backyard. Nervous at first, the friends quickly come to enjoy the backyard and the many new things they discover. One of their favorites is the garden in the backyard. Unaware at first what the garden is, the friends quickly discover the many wonderful and tasty treats they find. Set over the course of several days, the friends learn many lessons. They learn about being a good friend to others, they learn about helping each other and sharing with each other, and they learn about working together. This feel good story encourages friendship through the lives of familiar forest animals and helps kids learn about courage and trying new things. Forest Friends: Trouble in the Garden encourages learning through humor and intrigue and leaves the reader laughing and wanting more.
